Leisure travel services focus mainly on travellers on vacation. They do not arrange business or corporate travel services; rather, they design packages with holidaymakers in mind and with maximum enjoyment the goal.

Much like a normal Travel Agent, they usually have packaged deals at special prices to specific destinations. Group packages are usually cheaper, as everybody in the group flies together and share coaches and hotels. Their frequent group bookings is what gives them the leverage to negotiate special airfares and hotel booking prices.

It is important to read the fine print of any leisure package to see what is included and what not. Spending money is always extra, and with current exchange rate, a lot of money must be put aside for spending money, over and above the cost of the package. Be sure to check how many meals per day are included, and whether entry fees to tourist attractions are paid for or not, tranfers to and from the hotel are included on not.

Beware of packages promising to show you Europe in a week. It is impossible to see Europe in just one week. You might end up rushing into one tourist attraction per country and then you are off again travelling to the next country. It is just not worth it. Pick one or two countries and get the details of the tour beforehand so that you can see what attractions are being visited. It is hardly a leisure vacation if you are in a hurry all the time!

Leisure travel services can also direct you to a great many attractions closer to home and for significantly less money. Great packages exist at lodges, game farms, the Kruger National Park and tented safaris. They might even be able to assist with motor home or camper rental, should you feel so inclined. In fact, camping is an excellent way to get back to nature, and with the current economic climate, it still affords one a relatively cheap vacation experience.
