A Travel Agent is an agent that combines several travel products and sells them to customers on behalf of suppliers. These suppliers include airlines, coach services, hotels, tour operators and car rental companies.

The Travel Agent link all the components together to form an itinerary. At each juncture, the previous service is linked to the next, and the customer is handed over to the care of the next supplier. From this, it is clear that the Travel Agent always acts only as an agent between client and suppliers.

A Travel Agent keeps no stock. Products are only bought from suppliers once the customer has requested it.
