Travel Consultants

Travel consultants offer widely differing services and go by many different names. Some are no more than a Travel Agent, while others offer a complete travel service for both business and leisure travel and mainly focus on good business relationships.

As the name implies, a travel consultant should be able to accompany you through every step of your travel plans. They should be able to secure an airline ticket at a competitive price and they should be able to set up a complete itinerary, including connecting flights, all the way to your destination. They should have a list of hotel options that you can choose from and their price should ideally be lower than what you would have paid yourself, due to their negotiating advantage and large number of hotel bookings they do for their clients.

Furthermore, they should be able to give advice and arrange for activities, sightseeing tours and recreation at your destination. If you have bought an entire touring package from them, you should be able to sit back as they whisk you here and there on air-conditioned luxury coaches, show you all the tourist attractions with an accompanying guide filling you in on all the interesting bits of history of the site concerned.

The meals should be organised, the itinerary detailed and a decent travel consultant will ensure that you visit attractions at appropriate times. For example, a visit to the aquarium should be at shark feeding time, or at a time when the dolphin show is on. And all the entrance fees should be paid for in advance in your package.

Then, when the time comes for you to return home, your travel consultants should have the bus ready to take you to the airport. They should get your passport stamped, put you on the right flight and deliver you back home with only the good memories of a vacation well spent.
